Introduction

When you use Trickle via trickle.app or an associated application, or visit beautifulcompany.de or get in contact with us in another way (like email), you share personal data with us. We want you to be informed about what data you’re sharing and let you control how we use it. In this privacy policy you find:

When do we collect data and why?

When you are visiting our websites

When you visit any website you share information about yourself that could be used to identify you personally. This type of data is called log data or metadata, it includes your IP address, which is how the phone or computer you are using identifies itself on the internet. Unless you’ve intentionally shared your name with us, we don’t know who is behind an IP address, but if someone really wanted to, they might be able to identify you with it. You also share some other information like the browser and operating system you’re using, your internet service provider, your country and preferred language, the site that referred you to us, etc. In addition, we collect data about how you use the site when you visit. We use the information in aggregated form to understand how many people are coming to our site and what they are doing there (analytics) in order to make the site better for everyone who visits.

Cookies help us to authenticate you and keep your account secure without you needing to enter your password constantly. When you log out of Trickle our cookies are deleted. It’s a good idea to delete cookies from time to time but you’ll notice some inconveniences, like entering your login data again and again.

Getting emails from us

We give you the opportunity to sign up for email updates from us. On sign up we’ll ask for your consent to receive these emails. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing. Just click on the unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of each mail.

If you have a Trickle account you can enable email notifications in your settings. If you do so you’ll consent to get notifications, statistics, feature updates and similar service related communication via email from time to time. You can adjust your email preferences on your account preferences page at any time.

Finally, there are service related features that require us to send you emails related to your account activity. A good example is when you reset your password, one of the safest and convenient methods is to authenticate this request by sending you an email with a reset link. Emails like this will be rare and you’ll see that there is always a legitimate interest to send them to you.

Creating a user account and using Trickle

When you sign up for Trickle you create a user profile in our system. This profile is needed for Trickle to work properly. The profile includes personal information like your email address and your name. Alternatively, you may use a third-party authentication service such as Google Sign-In can be used to create an account on Trickle. If you use an authentication service, you grant us access to the email address and basic profile information that you provided to the third-party service.

If you share comments, feedback, messages or other information on our site be aware that this information is visible to anyone with a Trickle account. This is why we also ask you to adhere to the standards of public conversation, like being polite, well-meaning and conscious about what you say and how it may be perceived by other people. We provide you with options to delete your own comments, feedback, and messages in the system. If you chose to delete your account you have two options:

Some data you share cannot be deleted, such as sources you add to the system. This data becomes the property of the community. It is only possible to delete the information that you were the person who added the information, but not the information itself.

We use third-party developers to develop Trickle. We have appropriate processes, systems and contracts in place to ensure your data is kept safe.

We keep your profile information and usage data unless you ask us to delete your account.

Making a payment

Contacting us about work opportunities

You may contact us about opportunities to work with us as a freelancer, employee or supplier. You may do this via an online tool or other channels like email. We record personal information, such as your name and contact details, so we can get back to you and discuss the options. We keep your contact information on record for up to 6 years so that we can contact you if an opportunity to work with us arises. Please contact us if you want your personal data deleted sooner.

Communication via email, post or other methods

If you contact us with a request or enquiry, we will collect the data we need in order to reply and deal with your request. We will keep a record of emails or correspondence for at least 6 years in accordance with legally required retention periods.
