What is a beta version?

OK, Trickle is in beta. Sounds fancy, but what does that actually mean?

Trickle is a software platform designed to support lifelong learning. You can find out a lot more about Trickle by reading How Trickle Works (which will come online in a few days) and our mission.

The team behind Trickle have been developing the product for many months. A product beta is part of the testing and development phase creating a software application. It is a work-in-progress that is ready to let you experience the core functionality of Trickle. It means what you are seeing here is not the finished product, but an interim release that we opened up to the public to give it a go. As a beta user, you are one of the first people to experience the product.

Many functionalities of what we imagine Trickle to be are still missing and chances are high that there are quite a few bugs to be ironed out. So please be aware that you might run into some problems or quirks. When that happens, please let us know via our feedback channels and rest assured that we are working to fix these issues as soon as possible.

As this is not a finished product, we won’t charge anything for using all features of Trickle, and you become part of a very special group of users. You have a direct line to us and a tangible impact on whether Trickle will make it or go down as a good idea that never happened.

We can’t wait to hear your stories 🙂
